Sexual Reproductive Health

The ultimate goal of the Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights promotion program targeting young women is to help them develop into healthy and empowered persons. The program targets adolescent girls and young women aged between 12 and 25 years. The project focuses on four main strategic areas namely; adolescents’ sexual and reproductive health education, community engagement including schools, increased SRHR service utilization and strengthening the use of

social media in contraceptives promotion especially those living with their partners. The specific objectives include:

1. To advocate for increased access to sexual and reproductive health information and services among the youth 15-24 years.
2. To increase utilization of Reproductive Health and Family Planning services among the young women.
3. To increase access to information on sexual reproductive health through the social media to the young women.
4. To enhance sanitary health and wellbeing by providing sustainable access to reusable sanitary towels.

It is noteworthy that DoK has been manufacturing affordable comfortable, hygienic and reusable sanitary pads which are usually donated or sold to young women and organizations at a highly subsidized cost. This ensures that vulnerable women and girls live a healthy and dignified life. So far, over 12,000 packets of reusable sanitary pads have been distributed.
